The Challenge

Flood risk at ground floor level. The project also comprised the retrofitting of an existing chapel, which was to project into the modern elevation, as well as the proximity of St George’s Bridge as a constraint.

Our Solution

To overcome the floor risk and fulfil the flood protection requirements, the main stage was designed at first floor level.

We have extensive experience in sensitively repairing, retrofitting and maintaining heritage structures, and applied our conservation approaches to refurbish the existing chapel and protect the archaeological features of the 13th century bridge abutments.
