Wind Farm Success for Curtins' Transport Planning Team 21/12/2011
Curtins was recently appointed by Volkswind UK Ltd to provide transport services in relation to proposals to transport wind turbine abnormal loads to a rural site near Watford, Northamptonshire. A planning application for the 5-turbine scheme had previously been submitted and refused, in part, on Highway grounds before Curtins involvement. Once appointed a new route to transport abnormal loads to the site was identified by Curtins and a due diligence exercise was undertaken. This work led to the Highways reason for planning refusal to be removed. Curtins also provided Highways evidence at a recent Public Inquiry following which the appeal was allowed and planning permission granted.
