Curtins Team Building Event (3-4 September 2010)
Curtins Consulting hosted their biennial ‘Team Building’ Event on the 3rd and 4th September to coincide with their 50th anniversary celebrations at the Burleigh Court Hotel, Loughborough.
The two day event brought every member of Curtins eleven offices together to compete in ‘Crystal Maze’ challenges including Laser Quest and Bungee Runs. The top five teams from the challenges entered the ‘Crystal Maze Dome’, with the ‘Cowboys’ emerging as champions. Each member of the winning team was awarded with a special bottle of Curtin’s branded champagne.
A ‘Race Night’ was held following the Crystal Maze challenges with guests betting on the outcome on a number of different races. Each of the directors of the company were turned into jockey caricature which were later presented to them as memento’s before a surprise ‘This is Your Life’ programme. Held to mark the 50th anniversary of Curtins, Paul Metcalfe, Director of Curtins’ Leeds office, presented video clips, slides and contributions about Rob Melling, Curtins’ CEO, from colleagues past and present, friends and family.
On the Saturday morning a five a side football tournament was held to run off excesses of the night before with the London office gaining champion status and a well deserved Liverpool office coming in second place.
Curtins CEO, Rob Melling commented: ‘We look forward to our biennial get together, but this years was particularly important as it not only marked our 50th anniversary but also gave us the opportunity to thank all our staff for their hard work over the past two years. At Curtins we place importance on investing in our team and over the past two years with the economic difficulties, our team has really pulled together to help push Curtins forward and we wanted to acknowledge and thank them for this.’
The Team Building Event is part of a series of celebration events for Curtins 50th anniversary including the 50/50 challenge, Paul Metcalfe’s charity mountain climb and planting of 50 trees.
