HMP Perth

Perth 3

H.M. Prison Perth is a major new prison development in Scotland. This £35 million project was completed in 2006 and comprised a new prisoner houseblock, health centre and activity facility. This development includes the demolition of an existing accommodation block built in the 1840's.

H.M Prison Perth comprises a 290 cell block over 4 storeys. There are 2 wings and a central core. Curtins were commissioned to design and detail a precast concrete solution and used a flat pack system with cast-in doors and windows. The roof structure was also designed by Curtins and uses a traditional steel, portal framed structure. The interface of the steel frame connections and the concrete is relatively complex and required special plate connections.
