The Imperial Incubator is a 2,300 sq m facility housing early stage technology-based spin-out companies. It is co-located with specialist research centres at Imperial to create a cluster of activity centred around emerging technologies such as Bioengineering and Nanotechnology.

The Incubator was created from refurbished space within the Bessemer building at South Kensington, providing flexible office and non-specialised (Category 2) laboratory accommodation for early stage technology-based spin-out companies.

The facility is fully self-contained. A key feature is the secure entrance with a reception area. The majority of the space is dedicated to discrete laboratory spaces for up to ten tenant companies, together with discrete office spaces for their management teams. Other areas will include:

• Front and back office space
• Kitchen suitable for domestic-scale catering
• Breakout space with provision for refreshments and small informal meetings
• Formal meeting rooms which can be joined together as one large room or used separately
