Brighton Grove Diabetic Centre
The new £13.2 million Diabetic centre is constructed on the site of the existing Newcastle General Infirmary. The project involves extensive redevelopment of the existing Infirmary Site, as well as the inclusion of a Science Village, student facilities, and a new Tesco Superstore.
The new three storey Diabetic centre will incorporate dramatic glazed elevations to take advantage of the site’s prominent position. The structure is steel framed but future flexibility has been catered for, ensuring the building and its use can evolve with the latest technology.
Newcastle NHS Trust are committed to sustainability issues and are, therefore, aiming to achieve a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating for the new building.
