Located on the Gloucester Business Park, the £11 million Health & Racquets Club is a state of the art fitness arena and gym, providing both internal and external, wet and dry sports facilities.

Curtins were appointed by Esporta for the outline, scheme and tender design, and subsequently novated to Pearce Group Ltd for the construction stage. The facilities provided include:

Indoor

• Six tennis courts
• Twenty-five metre swimming pool
• Restaurant and kitchens
• Creche and play zones
• Associate changing rooms and other facilities

Outdoor

• Twenty-five metre swimming pool
• Tennis Courts
• Car Parking
• All structures are steel framed on piled foundations with vibropaction under ground the floor slabs. 36m long curved posthole (castellated) beams were used in the indoor tennis court frames and there is a 2m cantilevered canopy all around the main building.
• Environmental considerations have seen existing harstanding crushed and reused as a capping layer.
