Energy
As citizens we all produce waste from our homes our places of work and through our daily lives gathering the things we need to enjoy ourselves. This produces a mountain of material which would once have been simply dumped but now the true value of this material is increasingly being realised by re-use and intelligent recycling. However there remains a large volume of material which can not be reused. By unlocking the energy value of the residual waste stream by biological treatment to produce heat, combustible methane and compost or incineration to create heat and power directly the monetary value of the waste stream is enhanced the need for energy from less sustainable sources is reduced and the volume of waste sent to landfill is dramatically reduced .
Curtins are well placed to help with the design of facilities for handling this new resource. With our pre planning services of environmental site investigations, transportation and flood risk assessments we can help unlock difficult sites for development of new waste to energy plants as stand alone facilities or as part of a wider waste handling facility.
Our innovative design engineers can then develop the cost efficient infrastructure and buildings required to create a waste to energy facility that sits in harmony with its surroundings be they in a far off industrial zone or, as is increasingly the case, close to the homes we live in.
