Looking ahead to the 2021 Offsite Awards

We are looking forward to getting back to some real-life events over the coming months, and none more so that the Offsite Awards at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry on 21st September.

With MMC growing in importance across all sectors, it is good to reflect on the fact that Curtins and our projects have been regular winners at this awards ceremony over the past 5 years. In that time, we have been named winners in Best-of-the-Best Project, Healthcare Project of the Year, Best use of Concrete Technology, BIM/Digital Construction Award, Best Use of Hybrid Technology, and Engineer of the Year.

In this year’s awards we have 4 different projects up for 7 different awards, and we ourselves are shortlisted for the Engineer of the Year award once again.

Over the past 12-18 months we’ve seen and increased interest in our MMC offerings and have been asked to speak at industry events on the topic, including sessions at AUDE (Association of University Directors of Estates), Education Estates and IHEEM.

Our own series of very successful webinars have followed. A Podium webinar drew over 400 attendees in September 2020 and led to a number of smaller scale sessions to contractors, fellow designers, and clients. For a summary link to our MMC Podium talk please click here, and we would be delighted to discuss bespoke follow ups with anyone who this may be of interest to.

Finally, we are well aware of the links that MMC and carbon reduction have – another industry wide hot topic. We have recently revealed the results of a collaborative and Innovate-UK funded project to decarbonise precast concrete, with Akerlof, Forterra and PCE Ltd. We would be happy to discuss the specific results of this research with you all.

We look forward to the results of the Offsite Awards in a month’s time – in the meantime, watch this space for a series of exciting announcements from us, and do get in touch if any of the above is of interest to you or your teams.
