Benefits for our staff
We want to provide an employee benefits package that makes our staff proud to come to work on a Monday morning. Nobody chooses a job because the tea and coffee are free (ours are) and there’s a Bike to Work scheme (though we have one of those, too). What we’ve found is that employees benefit more from being looked after and feeling supported. When we put together our benefits package it was with an emphasis on our employees’ satisfaction, health and wellbeing.

Holidays
We understand that you don’t live to work, you work to live – holidays and spending time with loved ones is something we encourage.
Staff receive 25 days holiday per year in addition to all bank and public holidays, plus we offer a Holiday Purchase Scheme allowing permanent employees the option to purchase additional leave. Increased holiday entitlement is available to senior grades of staff.

Flexible working - Family friendly policies
We have family friendly policies to comply with current legislation, plus many of our staff use our Flexi Time scheme to manage their working hours. This allows you to adjust your start and finish time to suit commitments outside of work.

Holiday accommodation
At Curtins we offer you the opportunity to retreat to one of four holiday lodges in the Lake District and Somerset. Each member of staff is entitled to apply for a week’s holiday free of charge each year, subject to availability.

Cycle to Work scheme
Our cycle to work scheme is a salary sacrifice package that allows you to purchase a new bike for commuting, leisure, or both!

Birthdays
Each member of staff gets an additional days’ holiday to take on their birthday!

Corporate perks
A chance for our staff to save money by purchasing items from many high street and internet based retailers, through an on-line portal.

Share ownership
Wider share ownership of Curtins Group was introduced in 2002 with the purpose of giving individual staff members the opportunity to own a stake in the company and benefit directly from their endeavours. Eligibility is assessed upon length of service and status within the company.

Enhanced maternity pay
We want to ensure that new mothers at Curtins have the time and space to enjoy welcoming a new member to their family, which is why we offer enhanced maternity pay and a phased transition back into work.

Long term illness income protection
We have introduced a Group Income Protection Scheme, which provides eligible staff members with an income if they are unable to work long term due to illness or injury.
Life assurance
All members of staff over the age of 18 are covered immediately on commencement of employment for life assurance that is non-contributory.

Pension scheme
We operate a contributory group personal pension scheme which is managed and administered by independent financial advisors. Eligible staff members are auto-enrolled into the scheme when they join us. The company makes a contribution of 7% of the employee’s basic salary and the employee makes a contribution of 3% of their basic salary. Staff members can also make additional voluntary contributions (AVC).
Employee Assistance Programme
Employees can receive help and support from a confidential helpline for personal problems that may impact health, mental and emotional wellbeing.
Social activities
Curtins Getogether
All staff are invited to this exciting all-expense-paid event, held at a different secret location each year. The weekend involves a day of company-wide socialising and team-building, followed by evening entertainment and an overnight hotel stay.
Walking weekends
In honour of our founder who loved hiking, each year we visit a beautiful part of the country and spend some quality time in the fresh air. Starting with an evening of socialising and overnight stay, we enjoy picturesque walks suited to all abilities, followed by a team dinner and the option to stay a second night.
Christmas parties
We are renowned for our Christmas parties and each year we try to push the boat out to better the last! Attendees are treated to a night of fun including dinner, dancing and a chance to celebrate the year’s successes.
