To design and deliver a new build technology
centre to house the colleges expanding
curriculum. The project provides both teaching
and workshop space for a wide variety of
practical courses ranging from Automotive to
Welding.
The structure takes two separate forms with
the front half of the structure comprising of two
floors of classroom spaces formed from a steel
and composite slab structure. The rear of the
building utilises long span cellular roof beams
to create large double height workshop areas.
The foundations utilise a shallow pad solution,
with a gas protection system under a ground
bearing slab.
