£42m Kirkstall Forge, K3 & K4, Leeds

Client: Commercial Estates Group

Role: Principal Designer and CDM Adviser to Client

Plots K3 & K4 is Phase 2 of the overall £400m Kirkstall Forge development in Leeds. This phase will create 250,000 sqft of new office space together with a multi-storey car park providing 700 parking spaces. The current design details a dedicated multi-storey car park concealed between the two new office buildings with consideration needed to be given to a number of significant site wide constraints due to the existing environmental restrictions and existing on-site hazards. The site is adjacent to a railway line on one side with the River Aire on the other and has a heavy industrial historic use.

Kirkstall Forge K3 & K4

£12.5m Wolverhampton i9, West Midlands

Client: ION Developments / Graham Construction

Role: Principal Designer and CDM Adviser to Client

The project was for the construction of 50,000 sqft of new build Grade A office space comprising of ground plus 4 floors and a recessed top floor within the heart of Wolverhampton’s transport link. i9 emerged as a scheme following the success of the award-winning i10 complex on the opposite side of the road. i9 is the next step in building a thriving commercial quarter at the heart of Wolverhampton Interchange – bringing further investment and jobs to the city with the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) confirming that they will be taking space across two floors of the new office complex.

£8m Vauxhall Walk (Units 1-5, 92-98), London

Client: CLSH Management Ltd (CLS Holdings) / Galliford Try

Role: Principal Designer and CDM Adviser to Client

The project includes for the demolition of the existing 3 storey office block at 92-98 Vauxhall Walk (Units 1 to 5), to allow the construction of a new build 10 storey development comprising of A1 / A3 and B1 use on part of the ground floor and B1 office space on the remaining 1-9 floors respectively. The construction of the new building will also provide a link through to the existing building envelope at 16 Tinworth Street, from the first and second floors. To support the new office development, covered cycle storage and vehicular parking will also be constructed within the existing mews.

Vauxhall Walk

£9m 2 Stockport Exchange, Greater Manchester

Client: Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council / Muse Developments / GMI Construction

Role: Principal Designer and CDM Adviser to Client

A new 60,000 sqft Grade A office building in the heart of Stockport’s new business district. The new six-storey office building was constructed next to the popular 1 Stockport Exchange. 2 Stockport Exchange was the next stage of work to get off the ground at the £145m flagship office scheme, which is being delivered in partnership between Stockport Council and national urban regeneration and development specialists, Muse Developments. Stockport Exchange is part of an ambitious regeneration programme that is transforming Stockport town centre.

£9.2m 12 King Street, Leeds

Client: Opus North / Fiera Real Estate / GMI Construction

Role: Principal Designer and CDM Adviser to Client

Refurbishment of an existing office building to CAT A level which includes for an update to the current façade design; 2 No. extensions to create new entrances including a full height bull nose extension; new core areas; extension to the roof space; and internal finishes and external works. The project required demolition of 2 No. floors; strip out to shell and core and removal of the existing roof structure in order to create 3 No. new floors on the existing 5th floor slab, along with a roof terrace. The building is located in Leeds City Centre.

£200m Yorkshire Energy Park, East Riding of Yorkshire

Client: Sewell Investments / Eco Parks Development (Hull Eco Park)

Role: Principal Designer and CDM Adviser to Client

Yorkshire Energy Park will provide an energy centre and primary substation, providing up to 9.9MW of on-site energy and up to 39Mw of off-site energy for export; 600 rack data centre (tier 3) and disaster recovery suite; a mixture of space for businesses, including incubator space for start up businesses and SME growth; a National Centre of Excellence for education, training and research facilities and associated on site, short stay accommodation; an outdoor building materials and testing facility; new sports facilities for the community; and 45 hectares of green space, protected for 150 years as an ecologically enhanced area for protected species.
