Shakespeare North is the recreation of the Jacobean Cockpit in Court theatre. Based on an Inigo Jones design the first Theatre Royal was contemporary with the Globe. The 350-seat theatre forms the centrepiece of a contemporary new landmark building which will also be a visitor attraction, the home for an MA course in Shakespearean theatre and a community facility in a shared environment. The theatre can transform from its authentic historical mode to a contemporary theatre with full lighting grid, the option to allow daylight in and connection with an outdoor performance garden. Facilities include an exhibition space; foyers; bar; bistro; rehearsal spaces; community space; back of house theatre facilities; offices; social learning; and seminar spaces.

€3m Virginia Civic Centre and Library, Ireland

Role: Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP)
Development of a new Civic, Cultural and Library Services Centre on the site of the Ramor Theatre and adjacent to the former Parochial House and two storey end of terrace building on Main Street Virginia, all of which are protected structures. The design includes for the retention, renovation and restoration of the former Parochial House and conversion to a new use to accommodate a box office; exhibition space; canteen; offices; and a new glazed entrance on Main Street to the Ramor Theatre. The project also includes for demolition of the rear extensions to the original structure of the Parochial House and removal of derelict outbuildings.
€2m Kilcock Community and Sport Centre, Ireland

A two-storey community centre building with a gross internal floor area of 1968m2. The building will be of dual use comprising an indoor sports hall; stage and performance areas; a range of meeting and conference rooms; an upper floor multi-purpose hall with associated kitchen facilities; and wet and dry changing room facilities for indoor and outdoor associated sports and community uses. The project also includes for external works including car park; cycle parking; landscaping; and reinstatement of the children’s playground.
£2.5m Blackburn Town Hall, Lancashire
Client: Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council
Role: Principal Designer and CDM Adviser to Client
A multi-discipline refurbishment of the basement, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors of Blackburn Town Hall, split across three phases providing office accommodation and welfare facilities. The project involves the remodelling, refurbishment, and reinstatement of the floors at Blackburn Town Hall, including asbestos removal; strip out and demolition; and reinstatement works whilst the remainder of the building remains operational by the Council throughout the duration of the project. Due to the listed nature of the building extensive liaison with the Conservation Officer is required.

£5m+ The Reader, Calderstones Park, Liverpool

Role: Adviser to Principal Designer
The project was the design and refurbishment work to the Mansion House within Calderstones Park to create The Reader’s International Centre for Shared Reading. The Mansion House was constructed in 1828 and is Grade II Listed. It includes an art deco outdoor theatre in the ‘secret garden’ to the rear of the house, added in 1945. The works included for the full internal refurbishment including provision of reading rooms; library; a period room; a function suite including bar and café; offices; tenant spaces; workshops; shop; exhibition space; gallery; and outdoor theatre. The project was jointly funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund and Liverpool City Council.
£1.3m Norwood Cemetery, London
Client: Lambeth London Borough Council
Role: Principal Designer
The project forms part of a large masterplan for the restoration, refurbishment and conservation of Norwood Cemetery, a Grade II* listed gardens of historic importance on the English Heritage Register of Parks. The site first understood to be used for burials in the 1700’s features 69 Grade II and Grade II* listed structures. The package of works known as Package B consisted of but not limited to infrastructure upgrade and civils and drainage works. The project has received funding through The National Lottery.
