Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP)
Our Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) offering is serviced from our Dublin office. With extensive knowledge of the design process and familiarity with various forms of construction – including Modular / Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA), we have a sound understanding not only of the design process but also of the safety and health issues associated with construction. Our qualified specialists are competent in safety and health and are adequately resourced for the role.
The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013 place certain duties on Clients. Obligations are placed on Clients and others to ensure that safety and health is taken into account before any construction work begins. These duties are intended to ensure that the project is designed and constructed by competent persons. One of these duties is to appoint in writing, before design work starts, a competent and adequately resourced PSDP, as required.
Our view is that most risks can be avoided by good design, good planning, and by the use of tried and tested techniques for building safely. Actions taken at an early stage of the design process have a significant potential to reduce the level of risk on construction projects. Good co-ordination of activities and co-operation between all parties during design and construction is essential in reducing the high levels of risk found on many construction projects.
Our PSDP service strives to improve safety and health in the construction process by focusing on planning, management and co-ordination, and by establishing a chain of responsibility throughout the project team.
