An award‑winning development, the project received the Better Building Award for Best New Development from the Cork Business Association, recognising its impact on student life, industry collaboration, and campus innovation. Designed as a vibrant hub for learning and engagement, it strengthens connections across the university community and creates new opportunities for collaboration.
The Le Chéile Building, as part of Munster Technological University, is an innovative scheme that brings together the Academic Learning Centre – AnSEO – and engagement offices within a dynamic, interconnected space.
Delivered as part of Ireland’s first multi‑site Higher Education PPP, the Higher Education Bundle 1 (HEB1) programme, the scheme represents a major milestone in modern campus development.
Comprising three buildings and spanning 6,060 m², the development enhances opportunities for student support, industry engagement, entrepreneurship, and research and innovation. It also features event spaces for conferences, a striking double-height café at ground level, and a pedestrian plaza that serves as a new landmark and the welcoming front door to the Bishopstown campus for students and visitors.
