As part of National Apprenticeship Week, our team headed to The Roundhouse, Braddan - one of Curtins’ own projects - to meet young professionals, school leavers and students from across the Isle of Man who are curious about working in the construction and engineering industry.

We were joined by event partners Bell Burton Associates, Excel Construction Group, NK Construction and SCS, as well as more than 15 other businesses from the industry who enabled students to learn more about the diverse opportunities within the built environment sector.

David Marshall, Associate in our Douglas office and board member of Construction Isle of Man, spoke with attendees about STEM careers, sharing insights into engineering pathways and the skills needed to thrive in the industry - a timely conversation during National Apprenticeship Week.

David says, "Our office on the Isle of Man has been present for more than 40 years, during which we have continually valued the development of skills through apprenticeships. This event, in partnership with CIOM, is an excellent chance to highlight the breadth of opportunities available in our vibrant industry through this pathway, and connect future talent with like-minded businesses.”

At Curtins, we champion apprenticeships at any stage of a person’s career, whether they enhance an existing role or support a transition into a new career path within the business. This includes both technical apprenticeships alongside opportunities in non-technical areas such as marketing, HR and finance that enable our people to develop skills for life, transfer to new roles and build meaningful careers in engineering, construction and professional services.

Curiosity drives us, and we’re committed to creating an environment where everyone is supported to succeed.
