The Roundhouse is a ground-breaking leisure and community complex that aims to benefit all residents by helping them to live healthier, happier, more-connected lives on the Isle of Man.
The vibrant centres includes a sports hall, café, function room, therapy room, children’s soft play, dentist and meeting spaces within a striking building featuring a timber tower and undulating roof.
Landscaping, an outdoor play area, a new access road and car parking for 78 cars have also been delivered, with Curtins delivering civil and structural engineering.
Located within the main hospital grounds, The Roundhouse offers patients and visitors a welcoming space to relax and recharge away from the clinical environment.
Completed in 2024, this dynamic community hub is set to serve and inspire generations to come.

The building is mixed use, with a combination of construction types designed around the facilities, including a sports hall, restaurant and meeting spaces.
Our structural designs enabled the integration of the different forms of construction, enabling the delivery of the varying requirements of the building.
We supported Laing O’Rourke in preserving the Grade II listed Hydraulic Engine House as part of Everton’s new Hill Dickinson Stadium development. The restored Hydraulic Engine House not only honours Liverpool’s industrial heritage but also signals a future for continued regeneration in the northern end of Liverpool.
