The new John Perryn School in Acton, London, was funded as an initial pathfinder project under the Primary School Capital Improvement Programme.

The ‘crosswall’ construction, utilising load-bearing masonry walls across the building, provide the means of vertical support; lateral stability being provided by a combination of internal and external shear wall panels, utilising the diaphragm action of the floor slab.
