As collaborators on our Civils Insight Programme, Tom Rudge from Symetri led our 35 students this week on the topic of Digital Delivery.

In its second week, Wednesday’s session focused on why infrastructure is so important. Tom Rudge, Digital Construction Consultant at Symetri talked the students through Digital Delivery, BIM and the future of digital in the construction industry.

Our IT Board Director, David Price, expanded on Tom’s session, covering Digital Delivery at Curtins and its importance. To provide the students with a real-life example of Digital Delivery in action, Michael Smith also presented on our Barking Riverside project and how we used the latest technology to help deliver the scheme.

To wrap up the session, the students also got to hear from Ed McCann, ICE President on infrastructure and career paths through a 2022 Civils Insight recording.

The session aimed to illustrate the diverse opportunities in infrastructure to create a lasting impact and feedback from the enthused students was positive.
