The project comprises a new three storey building, located adjacent to the existing Biomedical and Natural Sciences Building.
The new facility features Wet Laboratories, Student Services, an Administration Centre and Interactive Spaces for students. Bridge Links were created on the first and second floors, linking the new building to the existing Phase 1 structure, whilst a new atrium between the two provides a hub for Student Services.
The roof consists of a lightweight metal deck, which provides the most economical solution due to its ability to span in excess of 8m; removing the need for immediate steel-work, a reduction in dead load and a quicker construction time.
