Construction of a new modular Critical Care Unit
within the existing hospital site. The new two storey
unit provides a 12 bed critical care ward with a
single isolation room on the ground floor.

Located between two operational wards, the
sequence of works needed to be planned to
minimise disruption to the hospital operations.
Additionally, the tight programme dictated that a
modular build presented the only viable option to
ensure the new facility was operational within the
    required timescales.

    The Integrating Health Services programme
of works at Royal Stoke Hospital was highly
commended in the Innovation in Procure 21+
category at the Building Better Healthcare Awards
    2015.
