The new eco-friendly Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture and Isle of Man Office of Fair Trading headquarters at St John’s, incorporates 1800m² of open plan office accommodation on two floor levels.
The client’s brief required a sustainable design using natural materials from sustainable sources wherever possible.
We designed the structure using timber framing in the form of ‘I beams’ for external walls and sedum roof joists; timber joisted ground floors and a glulam beam and column frames above the first floor.
This building is rated BREEAM Excellent.
