Synergy Housing Solutions and Chevin Housing Association developed 112 affordable housing units in partnership with Wakefield Council. This consisted of a care facility, 37 houses and eight specialist bungalows.

Drainage and infrastructure was a particular challenge as the site is surrounded by an existing road on all sides. Levels needed to be tied in whilst maintaining a flat surface for the central care home and the site’s sloping ground required flattening for the houses.

The structures are traditional load bearing masonry with precast concrete floors and timber truss roofs. Foundations are mass concrete pads and strips.
