Extension and refurbishment to an existing pool and leisure centre. New facilities include a sports hall, poolside changing village, three studios and space for climbing walls, as well as an entrance canopy, reception area and café.
The new steel frame wraps around two sides of the existing building to extend the leisure centre and its facilities significantly. At pool side, a new changing village has been provided, improving on the current access issue.
Refurbishment of the existing building includes changes to load bearing wall configurations and the addition of floor space to the fitness suite. External works and retaining structures were required to tie existing road and car parking into the new development.
