A full restoration of a Victorian public house for Thatchers Cider in Somerset, taking it from a building at near collapse to a popular Cider House and Kitchen at the heart of Sandford Village.
Our engineers worked with the original historic fabric, conserving it where possible and introducing new structures where additional strength was required. Significant use was made of exposed feature steelwork with highly detailed joints to blend with Victorian railway engineering and new stonework. A green oak, glazed ‘barn’ structure provides restaurant space to the rear.
Shortlisted for a Heritage Award at the 2016 South West Built Environment Awards.
