We provided all of our specialisms on a major mixed-use development next to Stockport Railway Station, comprising 400,000 sqft of commercial offices, a hotel, retail space and a new 1000 space MSCP.
We advised on a successful planning application and developed a package of highway works (value over £1m) on the A6 adjacent to the site in order to enhance the pedestrian linkages to the town centre.
Our Transport Planners worked closely with the architects to design and deliver public space outside the station entrance.
This required an innovative approach to solving existing problems in and around the vicinity of the site including the management of the various modes of transport. This involved the re-design of the taxi rank, bus facilities, servicing arrangements and improved pedestrian and cycle connections to the station.
We also undertook traffic modelling of the proposed MSCP and station entrances.
