The conversion of a tyre warehouse constructed in 1925, which had laid derelict for 25 years. Replaced by a tall slender hotel structure for the Travelodge, as well as retail and office space, at the North end.

The scheme has a modern feel to the internal space, which has been created by the inclusion of full height ribbon glazing within the existing building envelope. The East end brickwork has been completely removed and replaced with glass, with new concrete lift shafts providing the stability instead. Also, the new timber deck promenade above roof level provides views of both the green roof and Birmingham.

Multi award-winning project including RIBA award, Civic Trust President’s Choice Award, ACE Engineering Excellence Property Awards & BCO refurbished/recycled workspace.

This project was achieved using our R.A.P.I.D approach.
