The project consists of the construction of two new hotels – a Holiday Inn and an Ibis which will provide a total of 542 rooms. A 280-bed Holiday Inn and a 262-bed Ibis. The proposals also include for the provision of a mix of bars, restaurants, and meeting rooms; an external single storey plantroom and refuse store; 54 No. car parking areas; hard and soft landscaping; access provision from Palma Avenue; construction of a retaining wall along the highway boundary; and reinstatement works to World Way.

€12m Pairc Tailteann Re-development, Navan (Ireland)

Role: Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP)
Re-development of the existing Pairc Tailteann Stadium in Navan, transforming the facility and increasing capacity from 11,000 to a 21,000 all seater stadium capable of hosting big games as well as concerts and other such entertainment events. The project incorporates 2 No. 7,000 seater stands on either side of the ground with a further 7,000 seats provided between both ends with the project completed on a phased basis. Works also include for installation of floodlights, pitch re-alignment and other necessary ancillary works.

£5m Buchan House Malmaison, Edinburgh

Malmaison at St Andrew Square in Edinburgh’s City Centre involves the sensitive conversion of a Grade A listed building into a new boutique hotel, comprising 72 guestrooms with a series of public spaces including a restaurant, bar and coffee lounge and private dining facilities.
The building occupies two Grade A listed classic Georgian town houses, the oldest in Edinburgh’s New Town originally constructed in 1775 and fronting onto St Andrew Square. The design creates new public spaces at street level, with bedroom accommodation provided across the upper floors and two sensitive new-build extensions to the rear of the existing building providing additional front of house space and key operational links.
£10m Bretton Hall Redevelopment, Yorkshire

Role: Principal Designer and CDM Adviser to Client
Bretton Hall is an existing Grade II listed building. The project is for the major refurbishment of the Mansion House to form a 77-bedroom Hotel as well as the surrounding associated buildings including the Gym, Victor Passmore Building, Camelia House, Coach House, Stable Block, Theatre and Library, together with the external roads and drainage infrastructure. The project also includes for landscaping that encompasses the Mansion.
£7m Allianz Park West Stand, London
Client: Middlesex University London
Role: Principal Designer and CDM Adviser to Client
The project is for the fit-out of 4,000sqm of shell and core provided by Saracens Rugby Club to include a centre of excellence for Middlesex University’s London Sport Institute and Health Faculty. The development in partnership with Saracens Sport Foundation will provide a dedicated education centre and improved training, medical and competition facilities. The project forms part of the Allianz Park redevelopment.

Allianz Park
£18m, Hampton by Hilton, Station Quarter, Telford
Client: Telford & Wrekin Council / Genr8 Developments / KKA Architects
Role: Adviser to Principal Designer
The project is for the development of a Hampton by Hilton Hotel which forms part of a wider masterplan development at Station Quarter, Telford. The proposals are for a 6 storey independent building with 140-150 guestrooms and front and back of house areas. The plot will also include an element of external works together with associated surface car parking.
Curtins have been providing Middlesex University with CDM Advisory services as part of a framework agreement since 2017. More recently, the University have appointed Curtins as Principal Designer on our latest project to construct 6000 square metres of teaching space in the new Saracens West Stand at StoneX Stadium.
