Nutrient Neutrality

We have been undertaking Nutrient Neutrality assessments in the Eden area, following from the recently implemented legislation from Natural England.

This legislation has been particularly difficult to navigate for developers and Local Planning Authorities (and Consulting Engineers) because it was implemented with limited guidance on requirements or solutions.

Curtins have produced NN reports to obtain successful planning applications (which in the case of NN means “lack of objection”) on two sites adjacent to the River Eden with non-mains drainage systems.

The NN issue will remain and continues to have a significant impact on development in relevant areas.

Please speak to our team if you would like any further information or support on Nutrient Neutrality assessments.
