Our Isle of Man office proudly participated in the inaugural day of STEMfest, hosted by Construction Isle of Man. This exciting and educational event brought together Year 5 students from schools across the island, offering them a hands-on introduction to the world of construction.

David Marshall, our Associate in Douglas, joined the inspiring STEMfest activities in late March, where primary school students immersed themselves in an interactive play session alongside volunteers from Excel Group, McGarrigle Architects, NK Construction, SCS Ltd, the Department for Enterprise, and our own Isle of Man team.

The students not only learned about the construction industry but also put their newfound skills to the test. Working together, they built a bridge and courageously walked across it, demonstrating teamwork, problem-solving, and engineering ingenuity.

The event provided David with a meaningful opportunity to contribute to STEM outreach through his role on the Executive Board of Construction Isle of Man. It also served as a platform to inspire students and showcase the diverse and rewarding careers available in engineering.

STEMfest was such an engaging experience, which left a lasting impression on the young participants and ignited a passion for the construction and engineering fields. We were thrilled to be a part of such a fantastic initiative!
