Project Overview
On the Isle of Man’s largest Local Authority estate, nearly half of the 743 homes have undergone extensive refurbishment to improve comfort, weather resistance, and energy efficiency. These upgrades follow structural surveys that identified widespread issues with roof coverings, rendering, dampness, and chimney stacks in the buildings built between the 1960s and 1970s.
Curtins was appointed to lead the phased remediation works, following the initial surveys. Our role has been to ensure each property is made warm, weather-tight, and thermally efficient, enhancing the quality of life for residents.
The Challenge
Uncovering and managing previously unknown structural defects that emerged after the initial survey posed a significant challenge to the project timeline and delivery.
Our Solution
Leveraging our extensive experience in structural remediation, Curtins responded swiftly to these emerging issues. Our agile approach enabled us to address defects within tight timeframes, ensuring the phased improvement programme remained on track without delays.
