We're delighted to be returning to The Watershed, Bristol, this autumn to host People, Places, Progress, bringing together industry professionals, community leaders and built environment experts to explore three important topics shaping the sector today: community engagement, inclusive leadership and building safety.

Community Asset Transfer: Creating Better Places Through Community Ownership

Councillor Stephen Williams, Chair of Bristol City Council's Public Health & Communities Committee, will discuss how Community Asset Transfer is helping strengthen local communities across the city.

He'll be joined by Emma Harvey, CEO of Trinity Community Arts, who will share the story behind the transformation of Jacob Wells Baths into a successful community arts venue and the lessons learned along the way.

Breaking Down Barriers, Building Belonging

Curtins' Vicky Karavatsi will reflect on her experiences as a woman in engineering and discuss some of the challenges that still exist across the industry.

Alongside Rebecca King, Board Director at Curtins, the session will explore the importance of allyship, inclusive leadership and creating a more diverse and representative construction sector

Building Safety Act: Lessons Learned and Practical Insights

Jonny Sole and James Williams from Curtins' Bristol team will share practical insights from projects delivered under the Building Safety Act.

Using real-world examples, they'll discuss achieving the golden thread, developing Building Safety Cases and navigating the Gateway process for high-risk buildings.
