- We’ve Moved: Our Manchester Team Settles into a New Home at King’s House
We’re excited to share that our Manchester team has moved into a new Grade A+ workspace in the heart of the city centre. After many years at our trusted Whitworth Street West office, our growing team of 60 colleagues is now based at King’s House, 40 King Street West, M3 2WY. The beautifully refurbished Bruntwood SciTech building blends historic character with future‑focused design.
Completed in 2025, the refurbishment of King’s House created a light‑filled, premium workspace that immediately stood out to us. We now occupy the penthouse level, benefiting from a fully serviced, ultra‑modern environment designed to support hybrid working, collaboration and connection. The space has a variety of breakout areas for both client meetings and internal collaboration, helping our teams work flexibly while staying closely connected.
David Sandbrook, Business Unit Director for Manchester, said: “King’s House gives our team a space that truly reflects who we are as a business: forward thinking, people centred, ambitious and collaborative. Our team have been eager to make the move, and we’re delighted to now be fully settled into our new home. We’re excited to welcome our clients, industry partners and future colleagues into the space.”
“We’ve worked with Bruntwood across Manchester and the North West for more than a decade, and moving into King’s House has given us an opportunity to further strengthen this longstanding relationship. We look forward to continuing to collaborate with them for many years to come, building on shared successes including Circle Square.”
From our new Manchester base, we continue to deliver our full range of services, including civil and structural engineering, transport planning, and geotechnical and environmental consultancy - working closely with our network of 12 other offices across the UK and Ireland.
The interior design reflects our approach to modern working. A hot‑desk enabled set‑up allows colleagues to plug in seamlessly, while original architectural features sit comfortably alongside rustic woods, luxury metals and tactile finishes. Warm, dusky tones bring the space together, creating an environment where heritage meets innovation and where our people can thrive.
Sustainability was also a key factor in our move. As a Net Zero carbon building, King’s House aligns with our commitment to making responsible, low‑carbon choices. The building includes an on‑site fitness studio, cycle storage, and wellness facilities, alongside generous meeting spaces and the added benefit of the San Carlo restaurant on the ground floor. As part of Bruntwood SciTech’s Manchester portfolio, the move also connects us with a wider community of innovation‑led businesses across the city. David added:
Jack Harrison, Senior Commercial Surveyor at Bruntwood SciTech, commented: “King’s House is a demonstration of how we can preserve the character of heritage buildings while creating a workspace that meets the demands of modern businesses. We’ve had a successful partnership with Curtins for more than a decade, and it’s great to welcome such an ambitious company into King’s House for their next phase of growth.”
Since January, our team has also been making great use of the podcast studio at Bruntwood SciTech’s sister building, Blackfriars House, home to Behind the Curtin, our podcast uncovering the stories behind the people who shape our business.
