Project Overview

Hemisphere represents a defining moment in the regeneration of Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter, bringing forward a bold and sustainable new landmark shaped by the city’s architectural legacy.

As part of Sciontec’s vision for the continued growth of the innovation district, the fully brick-built façade recalls Liverpool’s mercantile heritage while reinterpreting design influences that once travelled across the Atlantic.

The building reflects the city’s historical dialogue with New York, creating a contemporary structure that honours the robust brick proportions established by icons such as the Stanley Dock Tobacco Warehouse.

The eight-storey, 150,000 sq ft development is expected to create significant opportunities for local people and businesses and will employ multiple teams of skilled bricklayers, including apprentices, placing traditional craft at the forefront of a modern innovation hub.

Curtins is proud to play a role in shaping this transformational project, working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to help realise a building of lasting good for the community it serves. Rooted in our commitment to sustainability, human centred design and engineering expertise, our contribution supports the creation of adaptable CAT 2 laboratories and innovative workspaces that meet the needs of a growing sector.

Testimonial

The HEMISPHERE project is a key step in the regeneration of Liverpool, completing Paddington Village and continuing the expansion of Liverpool’s now globally renowned KQ Liverpool innovation district. Following on from the success of our Liverpool Science Park and CENTRAL TECH buildings, HEMISPHERE will deliver the additional CAT 2 labs and larger innovative workspaces that our fast-growing customers need. HEMISPHERE will also help to unlock inward investment in life sciences in Liverpool, attracting new global players in science and tech into the Liverpool City Region, bringing new innovation and creating higher-value jobs.
