Project Overview

Supported by UK Government Town Deal funding, Cumberland Council, Cumbria Combined Authority and the Football Foundation, the Cumberland Sports Village (CSV) project represents a significant investment in the future of sport and community development in Workington.

The scheme will deliver a modern, sustainable, and exciting sports facility that will become a source of pride for Cumberland and the wider region. Designed to serve both Workington Reds and Workington Town, the development will create a high-quality venue that supports sporting excellence while strengthening community connections.

Beyond sport, the stadium will act as a focal point for local businesses and residents, offering enhanced hospitality spaces that can accommodate meetings, conferences, functions, events, and a wide range of community activities.

The Challenge

To create a high-quality, inclusive, and accessible venue that meets the needs of both football and rugby clubs while delivering new sporting and community facilities that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities.

Our Solution

The redevelopment of the existing Borough Park site will create a new shared stadium for Workington Reds and Workington Town. The facility will provide a modern home for both clubs, supporting their long-term ambitions and future growth, while establishing a hub of sporting excellence that benefits the wider community.
