Each milestone this year has demonstrated how living our values shapes the way we work, strengthens our relationships, and drives the positive impact we create for our people, clients, and communities.

Impact demonstrates the immeasurable power of our shared values and collective effort to effect positive, ground-breaking change and deliver excellence for our customers, colleagues, and the communities we serve.

Sustainability & Knowledge Sharing

This year, we hosted our third Sustainability Breakfast Seminar in Bristol, featuring insightful talks from Bristol City Council. The event was well attended and sparked meaningful conversations about how we can collectively shape a more sustainable future.

Celebrating 65 Years

Our 65th anniversary celebrations extended across our offices in Scotland, London, and Liverpool. In Liverpool we welcomed over 150 guests to the iconic Royal Liver Building. The event showcased an exhibition of our story and impact through project highlights through the decades, complemented by live entertainment and a special address from Nicola, granddaughter of our founder Bill Curtin.

Driving Inclusion

We proudly collaborated with BSI to develop new guidance on inclusive PPE, helping foster a more equitable industry that ensures safety without discrimination.

Giving Back

Curtins colleagues also embraced their volunteering days, dedicating time and energy to causes close to their hearts - further demonstrating the impact we can have beyond our projects. We also continue to raise money for our Curtins Care charity, Alzheimer's Research UK of which we have raised £14,932 this year!

How can Cumbria address the skills shortage?

Peter Thomas, Business Unit Director for Kendal, reflects on being told he’d need to leave Cumbria to build a career, a path many still follow as they pursue opportunities in larger cities. However, this has reinforced an outdated perception that rural careers are a compromise, rather than a viable and appealing choice from the outset.

How reusing buildings is fundamental to Midlands regeneration

Across the Midlands and wider built environment, the industry is increasingly moving to a ‘reuse first’ approach. This is a welcome shift given the wealth of existing building stock in the region and the enormity of opportunity for embodied carbon and cost reduction.
